Self-Enumeration Reaches 5.72 Million Households.webp

Over 5,720,000 households have utilized the Self-Enumeration facility during the first phase of the 2027 Census. The Registrar General of India stated that this demonstrates increasing public participation in the digital initiative for the 2027 Census. The first phase of the census began on April 1st, and the Self-Enumeration facility will continue until April 15th. The Self-Enumeration facility is currently being implemented in eleven states and Union Territories, including Goa, Karnataka, Mizoram, Odisha, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, the NDMC area, and the Delhi Cantonment Board.

House Listing and Housing Census will begin on April 16th and continue until May 15th. These operations will involve listing all buildings and structures, and collecting information on housing conditions, amenities, and assets. The second phase, which is Population Enumeration, will be conducted during February of next year. This phase will focus on collecting individual-level data, including age, gender, occupation, literacy, and caste details.
