Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra), March 17 The nine elected members of the Zilla Parishad from the Shiv Sena (UBT) want to support the parties that are in a position to control the local body in Wednesday's election, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve said here on Tuesday.
Notably, the BJP and the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde are in a dominant position in the local body. The election for the president and vice-president of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zilla Parishad is scheduled for Wednesday.
In the election for the 63-seat Zilla Parishad last month, the BJP won 23 seats, followed by the Shiv Sena led by Shinde with 21 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) won nine seats, and the NCP won four.
"Our members are inclined to be part of the ruling group, regardless of who forms it. It could be the BJP or the Shiv Sena (Shinde). We need to consider their views, and I will discuss this with the party president," said Danve.
Anything is possible in politics, he added.
