Mumbai, April 4 – The upcoming episode of Indian Idol will see choreographer Geeta Kapur getting emotional as contestant Abhishek Kumar delivers a soulful performance on a classic song associated with Shashi Kapoor.

Touched by the performance, judge Geeta Kapur, who was seen crying, said that she missed her mother, especially after Abhishek sang the song, "Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi."

The choreographer revealed that the song was an integral part of her childhood, as her mother would sing the same song as a lullaby to her when she was a child.

"I have never shared this before, but my mother used to sing this song to me as a lullaby: 'Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi, yun hi nahi dil lubhaata koi… jahan poori duniya suraj hain, mera chanda hain tu.' Hearing this song today brought back so many memories," said Geeta.

Following this, host Aditya Narayan asked Karisma Kapoor to share her thoughts on the performance and about her relationship with Shashi Kapoor. Praising Abhishek, Karisma said, "Your simplicity and the unique quality of your voice are very beautiful."

She further added, "Shashi ji also had a very simple personality, but he was very impactful. He used to do everything in his own way. He was not only a great actor, director, and producer, but also a passionate theatre personality."

Talking about the song, "Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi," which is from the film "Aa Gale Lag Jaa."

The movie starred Shashi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles.
