
March 31, New Delhi — Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino at the National Palace as part of the official preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
In a video shared on X, Sheinbaum described the meeting as a review of all arrangements leading up to the tournament, which begins on June 11.
Infantino expressed confidence in Mexico's readiness to host the event and presented the official yellow and red FIFA cards.
Mexico is co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Canada.
Mexico will play against South Africa in the tournament's opening match at the iconic Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
