Shillong, March 31 The opposition Voice of the People Party announced Batskhem Myrboh as its candidate for the by-election to the Shillong Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday.
The decision was made by the VPP's State Executive Committee, according to party leaders.
The seat became vacant following the death of the incumbent MP, Ricky AJ Syngkon, on February 19, but the Election Commission has not yet announced a by-election.
The party urged its members to work together to ensure a decisive victory for Myrboh in the by-election.
