
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries held a review meeting today on the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme in Shillong.
The meeting was held at Vivanta Shillong.
The meeting was attended by Shri Devesh Deval, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, beneficiaries under the PMFME scheme, District Resource Persons, and Shri R. Nainamalai, Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, as well as representatives from banks and officials of the State Government.
The programme reviewed the progress made under the PMFME scheme, discussed the challenges faced in its implementation, and assessed its impact on micro food processing enterprises.
Stakeholders also interacted during the meeting and shared suggestions to strengthen the effective implementation of the scheme at the grassroots level.
The PMFME scheme aims to support micro food processing units through financial assistance, training, and capacity building, while promoting local entrepreneurship and employment generation.
The meeting is expected to further strengthen coordination among all stakeholders for the successful implementation of the scheme.
Speaking to DD News Meghalaya, Shri Devesh Deval, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, said that the PMFME scheme has been playing a key role in empowering small food processing units and boosting local enterprises across the country.
