Bengaluru, March 10 Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah congratulated his deputy, D K Shivakumar, on completing six years as the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).
He praised Shivakumar's organizational skills and dedication to the party, despite being "harassed" by the BJP through false accusations.
"Congratulations to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on completing six years as the president of the KPCC," Siddaramaiah said in a post on 'X'.
Shivakumar's organizational skills, ideological commitment, and hard work are an example for all the young leaders of the Congress, he said.
"Despite being targeted by the opposition BJP through false accusations, Shivakumar has remained loyal to the party without compromising, and this demonstrates his unwavering loyalty to the Congress party. This is an inspiring example for lakhs of Congress party workers," the CM said.
He praised Shivakumar, saying that he worked day and night with party leaders and workers to defeat communal forces and bring the Congress party to power.
"Shivakumar has stood by me in rebuilding the state as a peaceful haven for all races. Shivakumar, who is younger than me, has a bright political future," Siddaramaiah said.
He also stated that it is a common desire to bring the Congress party to power in 2028. "I will also be with the party in organizing and fighting for this."
Siddaramaiah congratulating Shivakumar comes on a day when the latter is hosting a dinner party for Congress MLAs.
All eyes are on the outcome of this "dinner meeting," which is taking place amidst the power struggle within the ruling Congress between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar.
