New Delhi, February 24 Silver prices rose by 0.09 percent to Rs 2.65 lakh per kg in futures trading on Tuesday, amid global uncertainties following Trump's tariffs.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the silver for March delivery increased by Rs 252, or 0.09 percent, to Rs 2,65,585 per kilogram in a trading volume of 6,002 lots.
In the overseas market, Comex silver futures increased by USD 1.3, or 1.52 percent, to USD 87.8 per ounce.
Silver prices rallied after US President Donald Trump threatened to raise tariffs from 10 percent to 15 percent in response to the Supreme Court's ruling. The 10 percent tariff comes into effect from Tuesday.
"The changing policy stance fueled concerns that existing trade deals could be jeopardized, although major trading partners have so far maintained their agreements with Washington. Trump also warned of higher duties on countries that "play games" with current trade arrangements," said Jigar Trivedi, Senior Research Analyst at Indusind Securities.
