Singapore, March 10 The Indian High Commission in Singapore is joining the International Women's Day observance by screening "Raazi," starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, on March 15 as part of an extended annual Indian Film Festival.

Additional screenings of Mani Ratnam's "Roja" and Suriya-starrer "Soorarai Pottru" are also planned on April 5, 2026, at Festive Arts Theatre.

"On the occasion of International Women's Day, an additional screening of the movie 'Raazi' is also being organized on March 15, 2026, at Golden Village, Suntec City, as part of the Indian Film Festival 2026," the High Commission said in a statement on Tuesday. "Additionally, additional screenings of the movies 'Roja' and 'Soorarai Pottru' are also planned for April 5, 2026, at Festive Arts Theatre, Our Tampines Hub."

As part of its annual promotion of cultural activities and people-to-people ties between India and Singapore, the High Commission holds film screenings in the city-state.

"Building on the success of the Indian Film Festival (IFF) 2025, which marked the inaugural edition of the festival, the High Commission of India in Singapore, in collaboration with the Singapore Film Society, organized the Indian Film Festival 2026 from January 23 – March 8, 2026," the High Commission said.

This year's festival showcased a thoughtfully selected lineup of 21 films across eight Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Manipuri, Gujarati, Odia, Assamese, and Malayalam.

These films ranged from timeless classics to popular blockbusters and acclaimed regional films.

At the request and with the overwhelming response of the audience, the High Commission organized additional screenings of three movies – "Boong," "3 Idiots," and "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" at Festive Arts Theatre on March 8. "Boong" recently won the BAFTA award.

"Today, the two countries enjoy a strong diplomatic, trade, cultural, and people-to-people connection," said a diplomatic observer, highlighting the importance of such developments between India and Singapore, the first of which began over a century ago with the founding of the island as a colonial British outpost from Calcutta.
