Jammu, March 31 Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Tuesday that in the face of global conflicts and strife, humanity must learn from the teachings of Lord Mahavira, which promote lasting peace and unbreakable brotherhood.

Addressing a gathering at the Mahavir Janma Kalyanak celebrations, Sinha extended greetings to the people and called upon the younger generation to adopt non-violence and reform their attitudes towards nature, which he said has long been exploited as a mere resource.

"In the face of global conflicts and strife, humanity must learn from the teachings of Lord Mahavira, which promote lasting peace and unbreakable brotherhood," Sinha said, stressing that true progress comes from responsibility and accountability for one's actions.

He said building a better future requires bridging divides and fostering trust through understanding diverse cultures, ideas, and experiences.

In his address, the LG highlighted Mahavira's teachings of Ahimsa and Anekantavada, emphasizing the importance of right faith, knowledge, and conduct in today's world that urgently needs compassion, peace, and brotherhood.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sinha said India stands resolute under his leadership and is inspiring the world with the message that true peace is not weakness but unwavering courage. "This is a time to build bridges, not battlefields," he said.
