Chennai, February 25 – Actor and producer Sivakarthikeyan praised veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar, stating that only she could have convincingly portrayed the lead role in director Sivakumar Murugesan's 'Thaai Kelavi'. He highlighted her commitment, even while she was suffering from severe knee pain that required surgery.
Participating in the trailer and audio launch of the film, which was produced by his production house, Sivakarthikeyan Productions, he said, "Only Radhika ma'am could have pulled off this character. She had knee pain and had to undergo surgery. So, she requested us if she could complete the surgery and then come and shoot the remaining portions."
He continued, "However, all the other actors were very busy, and it would have been difficult to get them all together again. So, we requested Radhika ma'am that we would shoot all the scenes in which she is seen sitting with the other actors. We told her that we would shoot the scenes in which she is seen walking later."
Sivakarthikeyan added, "Thanks to her cooperation, we were able to shoot the entire film in one schedule. Thanks to the support of the entire cast, Sivakumar Murugesan was able to complete the film on the day he had promised."
Sivakarthikeyan also praised the genuineness of director Sivakumar Murugesan. He said, "I like the genuineness of Sivakumar Murugesan more than his writing. This industry tends to bring it down. I think my job is to make sure that this does not happen. The genuineness is what makes us appreciate this script. My next film after 'Seyon' will also be with Sivakumar Murugesan. This is not for results or business or profits. It is for Sivakumar's genuineness."
For those unfamiliar, 'Thaai Kelavi', a comedy drama, features Radhika Sarathkumar in the lead role. The film also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, and Raichal Rabecca in supporting roles.
The film, produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Sivakarthikeyan, features music by Nivas K Prasanna and editing by San Lokesh. The cinematography is by Vivek Vijayakumar, while the art direction is by Ramu Thangaraj.
