
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 26: The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, successfully concluded a three-day Skill Development Training Programme on Laboratory Animal Techniques for Preclinical Experiments, held from February 24–26, 2026.
The programme provided participants from biological, pharmaceutical, and veterinary sciences with hands-on training in ethical animal handling, experimental design, GLP-compliant research, biosecurity, waste management, drug administration, and clinical observation. Advanced sessions included anesthesia, analgesia, histopathology, alveolar macrophage culture, euthanasia, and necropsy, all conducted under strict ethical and biosafety guidelines.
In the concluding session, Director Dr. Zabeer Ahmed emphasized the importance of ethical practices and standardized protocols for credible, internationally acceptable preclinical research. Certificates were distributed to participants, and the session was conducted by Research Fellow Sundas Choudhary, with a formal vote of thanks by Principal Scientist Dr. Nasir ul Rasheed.
