Fresh snowfall forecast for higher reaches prompts preparedness measures in Anantnag as engineering teams remain on alert and Sinthan Kishtwar road closed precautionarily

March 10, Anantnag: The Meteorological Department has predicted fresh snowfall across the higher reaches of Kashmir from March 10 to March 12, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures in vulnerable areas.
Following the forecast, the Mechanical Engineering Department Anantnag issued an alert and placed men and machinery on standby to tackle possible snow accumulation and ensure road connectivity.
Superintending Engineer of the Mechanical Engineering Department Kashmir, Javid Ahmad Tantray, told DD News that field teams have been deployed and remain prepared for immediate response. He said men and machinery are on round-the-clock alert to ensure timely snow clearance and smooth movement of traffic on major routes.
Meanwhile, authorities have closed the Anantnag–Sinthan–Kishtwar road for traffic as a precautionary measure in view of the fresh snowfall and prevailing weather conditions.
