
February 18, New Delhi: European nations are increasing pressure on social media companies in response to public concerns about child safety.
On Tuesday, Spain ordered prosecutors to investigate Meta, X, and TikTok for allegedly spreading AI-generated images of child sexual content, following a similar move in Britain. Ireland has also launched a formal investigation into X's AI chatbot, Grok, over its handling of personal data.
In recent weeks, several European countries, including France, Spain, and Greece, have proposed banning social media for adolescents, following Australia, amid growing concerns about addiction and online abuse.
