Shimla, March 17 In what appears to be a case of double suicide, a man and a woman were found dead in a forest area near Parwanoo in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, according to the police on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Yashika Lama (20), a national from Nepal who resided in Deonghat in Solan, and Karan (22), a resident of the Padgyani village in the same district.
Late on Monday evening, a local informed the police that he had seen two bodies in the forest area while visiting a nearby temple. The man was found hanging from a tree, while the woman was found lying on the ground.
A police team reached the scene, secured the bodies, and also collected crucial evidence from the site, officials said.
Solan SP Tirumalaraju S D Verma confirmed the deaths and stated that the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
