
Una (HP), March 11 Naik Subedar Kulwant Singh, who was killed in a road accident this week in Arunachal Pradesh, was cremated with full military honors here on Wednesday.
A large number of people, including Army personnel, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Una Jatin Lal, and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sachin Hiramath, attended his funeral in Ghaluwal, his native village.
Villagers bid a tearful farewell to Singh as the funeral procession passed through the streets of the village.
Kulwant Singh (40), was serving as a Naik Subedar in the Indian Army in Arunachal Pradesh. He was killed in a road accident in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh on March 7. His mortal remains were airlifted to Chandigarh on Tuesday.
The deputy CM paid tributes to Singh and said that his contribution to the country will always be remembered and his courage, dedication, and patriotism will continue to inspire generations to come.
Born in 1985, Singh joined the Indian Army in 2003 and was currently serving as a Naik Subedar in the 908 Field Regiment of the 56th Artillery Brigade.
He is survived by his mother, Mahinder Kaur, wife, Pooja Devi, and two sons, Rohan Chaudhary (13) and Suryansh (10).
