Sonbhadra (UP), March 25 Three people, including a married couple, were killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Mirzapur-Robertsganj road in the Karma area here, police said on Wednesday.
The accident occurred late Tuesday night near Kekrahi village when Jai Singh, 49, and his wife Sarita Singh, 48, residents of Jaunpur, were travelling on a motorcycle, and their vehicle collided with another bike coming from the opposite direction, Circle Officer Randhir Kumar Mishra said.
The couple died on the spot, while Chandu, 20, a resident of Karma who was riding on the other motorcycle along with two others, succumbed to injuries during treatment at the district hospital, the officer said.
The two other injured persons are currently receiving treatment, he added.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and further legal proceedings are underway, police said.
