Sonbhadra (UP), March 10 Police have registered a case against a man in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh after his 19-year-old daughter accused him of rape, an official said on Tuesday.
Local SHO Akhilesh Kumar Mishra said the woman in her complaint alleged that her father sexually assaulted her in a secluded forest area under the Chopan police station limits.
According to the complaint, the accused, a grain trader, had taken his daughter out under the pretext of getting her medicine.
The complainant told police that when they reached the Baghnala forest area, the accused allegedly raped her and later fled from the spot.
The complainant told the police that her mother had passed away, and that the accused, originally from Bihar, was currently living in Sonbhadra.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case on Monday evening, the SHO said, adding that the accused will be arrested soon.
