Tezpur, February 21 A person was arrested with arms and ammunition in the Sonitpur district of Assam, police said on Saturday.
The arrest was made on Friday night based on a tip-off.
"A search was conducted at the rented accommodation of the person in Tezpur town. A factory-made .22 pistol, five rounds of live ammunition, a sword, and a khukri were recovered from the house," the official said.
He said an investigation is underway to determine the source of the arms.
