Chennai, March 24 Actor Soori, who is now emerging as one of Tamil cinema's fastest-rising stars, will next be seen playing the lead role in director R Ravikumar's upcoming bilingual film, the makers announced on Tuesday.
Popular production house Mythri Movie Makers, known for creating intriguing and large-scale entertainers across multiple languages, announced its third Tamil venture on Tuesday, tentatively titled #MythriTamil03.
The production house stated that Soori will play the lead role in this film, which will be directed by R Ravikumar. The film is being produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar on behalf of the popular banner, primarily known for producing hit Telugu films.
The makers made the announcement along with a striking, visually arresting poster. The protagonist is shown from behind, waist-deep in murky floodwater. His reflection in the surrounding water adds a surreal element. A weapon clenched in his right hand suggests danger and survival. Scattered utensils, debris, and an overturned gas cylinder lie around him, capturing the raw aftermath of destruction. A dim red light coming through a doorway ahead casts an ominous silhouette, heightening the atmosphere of dread.
The words "BLOOD FOLLOWED THE FLOOD" hover above the submerged reflection, amplifying the sense of devastation and impending violence. The tone is gritty and mysterious, suggesting a narrative rooted in intense emotions and chaos.
For those unfamiliar, Soori is currently experiencing a wave of success. His recent films, including 'Kottukkaali', 'Viduthalai', and 'Maaman', have all been major successes.
Director R Ravikumar has established himself in the science fiction genre with acclaimed films such as 'Indru Netru Naalai' and 'Ayalaan'. Meanwhile, Mythri Movie Makers ventured into producing Tamil films with 'Good Bad Ugly', starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role. They followed it up with 'Dude', starring Pradeep Ranganathan, which became a major blockbuster.
Soori already has a promising lineup of films, including 'Mandaadi', waiting for release. It may be recalled that Soori, who plays a sailor in director Mathimaran Pugazhendi's highly anticipated action entertainer 'Mandaadi', had released a Behind The Scenes (BTS) video from the film's set, showcasing him working out in the sea for his role. This video generated significant excitement among Soori's fans.
