
New Delhi, March 1 Sikandar Raza's all-round performance proved futile as South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by five wickets in their Group 1 match of the T20 World Cup's Super Eights stage here on Sunday.
Chasing 154, the Proteas found themselves in a difficult situation after Raza took 3/29. South Africa eventually finished at 154/5 in 17.5 overs, with Tristan Stubbs (21 not out) and George Linde (30 not out) at the crease.
Ryan Rickelton (31) hit four sixes, and Dewald Brevis scored 42 off 18 balls with four sixes and two fours.
Earlier, captain Sikandar Raza's brisk 73 off 43 balls was instrumental in taking Zimbabwe to 153/7.
Raza hit eight fours and four sixes to play the key role. In the final overs, Clive Madande struck 26 off 20 balls (3 fours).
