Ahmedabad, February 26 – South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl against the West Indies in their second Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Thursday.

While South Africa have maintained their unchanged lineup, the West Indies have brought in Roston Chase in place of spinner Akeal Hosein.

The West Indies are coming into the match after a dominant 107-run victory against Zimbabwe, while South Africa also defeated the defending champions, India, by 76 runs in their first Super 8 match. Both teams are unbeaten in the tournament and will aim to secure a semi-final berth by continuing their winning streak.

After winning the toss, South Africa captain Aiden Markram said, "We will bowl first. The pitch looks like a good one; we have played a couple of games here; it seems a bit slow, and we will try to make the most of it. We are fortunate to have played here before; the conditions have been different, and we are looking forward to it. Same team. He is leading the team from the front, giving inputs, and he has played in the IPL at this venue."

While after losing the toss, West Indies captain Shai Hope said, "We will also try to score runs. We would have bowled first as well. One change: Roston Chase replaces Akeal Hosein. It's just a tactical change; he has played very well and hasn't been dropped. We have played some good cricket so far, and the boys are up for this game."
