
New Delhi, April 10 Three women involved in drug trafficking, linked to an interstate narcotics syndicate, were arrested in southeast Delhi. Over 23 kg of cannabis, along with other drugs, jewelry, and cash, were recovered from their possession, an official said on Friday.
Following a tip-off about the movement of a woman drug peddler in the Sarai Kale Khan area, the police laid a trap and apprehended Daro Devi, 32, a native of Bihar, who was found with 22 kg of cannabis concealed in bags. A case was registered, the officer said.
During interrogation, Devi led police to her associate, Arti, 34, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, who was allegedly involved in the distribution of the contraband. Police recovered over 1 kg of cannabis, jewelry weighing 244 grams, and cash amounting to Rs 2.90 lakh from her possession, police said.
In a related operation, another accused, Sudha, was arrested from Jal Vihar with 28 grams of smack. Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the network.
