
Pulwama Hosts CAP Basketball Final

February 16, Srinagar: The basketball tournament final under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26 was held on Sunday at the Sports Stadium in Pulwama, drawing strong participation from boys and girls teams.
The matches featured competitive play, with young athletes displaying teamwork and sportsmanship in the final rounds. Spectators filled the stadium, cheering for the teams and reflecting growing interest in sports among local youth.
Senior Superintendent of Police Tanushree, an Indian Police Service officer, attended as the chief guest and distributed trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up. In her address, she urged young people to participate in sports, saying that athletic activities promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, and healthy living.
Additional Superintendent of Police Tanveer Ahmad Najar, the deputy superintendent of police headquarters, and other senior officers were also present. Officials commended the participants and reiterated the commitment of the district police to encouraging youth engagement through sports and community initiatives under the Civic Action Programme.
The event concluded with participants and attendees expressing their appreciation for the support extended by the Pulwama Police.
