March 19, New Delhi – Sunrisers Hyderabad have appointed Ishan Kishan as interim captain, with regular skipper Pat Cummins sidelined due to injury.
Opening batter Abhishek Sharma will serve as vice-captain during Cummins' absence.
Cummins is out due to a lower back stress injury, which also ruled him out of the Ashes and the T20 World Cup.
This move makes all ten IPL teams led by Indian captains, a rare occurrence last seen in 2019.
Kishan joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 11.25 crore. He has previously played for Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions.
