Kolkata, March 11 The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned former West Bengal Education Secretary Manish Jain and expelled Trinamool Congress leader Kuntal Ghosh in connection with the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment case, officials said on Wednesday.
Both Jain and Ghosh have been asked to appear at the ED office next week for questioning, they said.
The move comes days after former state Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukhopadhyay were summoned in the same case.
Kuntal Ghosh, who was earlier arrested by the CBI during the initial SSC recruitment corruption case, was later taken into custody by the ED in connection with the case. He is currently out on bail.
The ED received new leads in the ongoing SSC recruitment investigation, prompting the summons of Ghosh and Jain for detailed questioning, the official said.
"Our officers will examine the evidence collected in recent weeks and question the former bureaucrat and party leader accordingly," he said.
