Tiruvarur, March 31 Chief Minister MK Stalin launched his campaign for the April 23 Assembly polls here on Tuesday, and criticized AIADMK chief Palaniswami as a leader lacking a long-term vision or understanding.
Officially introducing the candidates of his party and those of his allies, and seeking their support, the DMK chief stated that the NDA's sole purpose was to hinder the development of Tamil Nadu.
He alleged that the NDA's objective was to "destroy" the development achieved through the Dravidian model.
"This is the purpose of the NDA alliance. The BJP, which leads the NDA, has allied with the AIADMK because they lack the strength to oppose us in Tamil Nadu."
"The NDA is in Tamil Nadu to lose; the Assembly elections are a fight between Tamil Nadu and the NDA from Delhi," he said.
The BJP has effectively "intimidated" AIADMK chief Palaniswami, thus controlling the AIADMK within its "alliance."
After the DMK rally, Chief Minister Stalin walked through the streets of Tiruvarur, interacting with people and seeking their votes.
