Mumbai, February 23 – Actress Riya Munjal, who is receiving a lot of positive feedback for her role in the television show 'Lakshmi Niwas', has spoken out about an instance where she stood up against unwanted attention.
The show currently features an engaging storyline centered around Bhoomika and Raj Bundela. Bhoomika, the youngest daughter of Srinivas and Lakshmi, played by Riya Munjal, finds herself at the center of unexpected events when millionaire Raj Bundela enters her life. Raj, immediately smitten with Bhoomika, takes a bold step by approaching her family with a marriage proposal on the very first day he meets her. His consistent support towards the family during difficult times gradually earns their trust, leading Srinivas and the family to seriously consider his proposal.
Bhoomika's journey is even more complex. A lively and energetic girl, she is suddenly confronted with situations she wasn't emotionally prepared for. As the storyline progresses, viewers witness her inner conflict, balancing family expectations, her own instincts, and the courage to find her voice.
Interestingly, this emotional strength is something that Riya Munjal deeply relates to in real life. Riya Munjal said, "During my college days, while travelling to and from campus, I would often witness or encounter unwanted attention or inappropriate behavior, whether it was directed towards my female friends or towards me. I've never been someone who could simply ignore such situations. My immediate instinct has always been to speak up or confront it, even if I later thought about the potential risks involved. But at that moment, you just feel it's important to stand your ground."
"That's why I can so easily relate to Bhoomika. She may seem bubbly and emotional, but deep down, she possesses that strength. She may take time to process things, but when it comes to self-respect or standing up for what's right, she doesn't back down. I think every girl has that instinct within her; sometimes, you just need the courage to act on it," she added.
