Jaipur, March 30 Strong winds swept several parts of Rajasthan, including the state capital Jaipur, on Monday due to a fresh western disturbance. Light rain was reported in several places across the state. The Meteorological Department said.
According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a cyclonic circulation formed over western Rajasthan and adjoining areas due to the system, leading to ongoing light to moderate rainfall activity in the state.
The department said that districts in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota are likely to experience strong winds and isolated light to moderate rain on Monday.
In Jaipur, the sky remained partly cloudy during the day, while gusty winds picked up in the afternoon. Reports of light drizzle were received from several localities in the city.
The weather office said similar conditions are likely to persist on March 31, with parts of the Shekhawati region, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions expected to receive light to moderate rainfall at isolated places.
However, weather conditions are likely to turn largely dry across most parts of the state on April 1 and 2, with only isolated drizzle at a few locations.
The department further said that another western disturbance is likely to become active between April 3 and 5, which may lead to an increase in thunderstorm and rainfall activity in several parts of the state.
