State Grants Empower Local Development in Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and Beyond.webp

The government has approved and released grants from the 15th Finance Commission, both tied and untied, to Panchayati Raj Institutions and local bodies in Telangana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and Mizoram for the financial year 2025-26. These grants will empower local governance, enabling need-based development within Panchayati Raj Institutions. Specifically, over 247 crore rupees have been released to Telangana as the first installment for 12,600 Gram Panchayats.

For Uttarakhand, over 91 crore rupees have been released as the second installment, benefiting all 13 District Panchayats, 95 Block Panchayats, and nearly 8,000 eligible Gram Panchayats. For Maharashtra, the government has released over 109 crore rupees each as the withheld portions of the first and second installments of the 15th Finance Commission. Meghalaya received 27 crore rupees as the second installment of untied grants from the 2021-22 financial year.
