March 14, New Delhi: Donald Trump has warned Iran that the United States could strike oil infrastructure on Kharg Island if Tehran continues to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump said that the U.S. had already carried out strikes on military targets on Kharg Island but deliberately avoided hitting the island’s oil infrastructure. In a post on Truth Social, he stated that “for reasons of decency,” the oil facilities were spared.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that U.S. strikes caused no damage to Kharg Island’s oil infrastructure. At the same time, Iran’s armed forces warned they would target U.S.-linked oil facilities if Iranian energy installations were attacked.
