
Jammu, March 26: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level meeting to review the implementation of major healthcare reforms in Jammu and Kashmir, guided by the recommendations of the NITI Aayog.
The meeting focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, improving service delivery, and accelerating systemic reforms through technology integration, institutional collaboration, and capacity building.
The Chief Secretary reviewed progress in expanding MBBS and postgraduate seats, upgrading healthcare facilities, and introducing specialized services. He emphasized timely execution, better coordination, and optimal resource use to improve health outcomes.
Key initiatives include the rollout of Tele-ICU and Tele-Radiology services, collaboration among institutions like AIIMS and Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, and the development of cancer care, mental health, and drug de-addiction programs.
Efforts are also underway to strengthen food safety in coordination with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, and to introduce advanced services like liver transplants in collaboration with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.
The government reiterated its commitment to building a patient-centric, technology-driven healthcare system, with a focus on operationalizing digital health services and expanding specialized care across the Union Territory.
