
Hamirpur (HP), March 13 Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Friday that there is no shortage of LPG and dismissed reports about the hoarding of gas cylinders in the state.
He also appealed to the public to refrain from giving credence to false rumors.
Sukhu added that the Centre has assured there will be no shortage of gas supplies in Himachal.
Taking a dig at Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur, he remarked that Thakur engages in daily rhetoric solely to strengthen his own faction.
Maintaining that the BJP is a "divided house", he said that Thakur's way of speaking proves how frustrated he is with his own party politics.
He alleged that Thakur frequently issues statements, often daily, solely to bolster his own faction and generate newspaper headlines.
Addressing the issue of entry and environment taxes in Himachal, the chief minister clarified that the government does not unilaterally determine these taxes; rather, the tax rates are established through an auction process.
Highlighting that tourism and hydroelectric power generation are the state's primary revenue sources, he warmly welcomed tourists, assuring them that every effort would be made to ensure they face no inconvenience during their stay.
Sukhu also heard public grievances at the Sera Rest House.
