
The Directorate General of Shipping has stated that three Indian seafarers, serving on board foreign-flagged vessels, were killed and one person was injured amidst the escalating tensions in the West Asia region.
The Directorate, IFC-IOR, MRCC, and other authorities are maintaining close coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the continued safety, well-being, and timely support for the seafarers. All necessary support, assistance, and facilitation are being extended to the affected seafarers and their families.
According to the latest reports, there have been no confirmed instances of casualties, detentions, or boarding involving Indian-flagged vessels. Monitoring and verification efforts are ongoing, and Indian-flagged vessels continue to operate in the region.
The Directorate General of Shipping has constituted a quick response team to provide immediate response, evacuation coordination, and support to Indian seafarers stranded in and around the Persian Gulf region as tensions rise in West Asia.
