
New Delhi, February 25 Senior advocate ADN Rao, who assisted the Supreme Court as a "friend of the court" in handling several environmental-related public interest litigations (PILs), has passed away, according to the top court's bar association.
Rao, who was designated as a senior advocate by the Supreme Court in 2021, practiced law for over three decades and was known for his valuable assistance to the top court in dealing with environmental-related PILs, particularly those filed by prominent environmentalist M C Mehta in the 1980s.
Rao's son, Annam Venkatesh, is a practicing lawyer in the top court.
According to the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), the final rites will be held at the Lodhi Road Crematorium on Wednesday evening.
