
Yesterday, Punjab launched its first-ever caste-based socio-economic survey. The purpose of this initiative is to assess the living standards of all communities while maintaining complete confidentiality. It will be crucial in ensuring equitable and targeted policymaking. Government sources stated that a budget of ₹250 Crore has been allocated for the survey. 28,000 enumerators will be deployed across the state to collect the data. The survey is expected to be completed within three months.
