Mar 04, Srinagar: The Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) is driving structural reforms in the rural economy of the Kashmir division, with more than 17,000 productive units established under the initiative.
Officials said the units include 200 high-tech greenhouses, 500 low-tech greenhouses, 1,800 certified seed producers and mushroom units, along with several other agriculture and allied sector ventures supported through subsidy-driven interventions.
The programme marks a shift from subsistence-based farming practices to an integrated, outcome-oriented reform model aimed at building sustainable, resilient and commercially viable livelihoods in agriculture and allied sectors across Jammu and Kashmir.
A key component of HADP is its mission-mode governance and technology-driven implementation. Farmer onboarding and applications are processed through the Kisan Sathi portal, while skilling and decision-support services are delivered via Daksh Kisan.
Last-mile service delivery is facilitated through Kisan Khidmat Ghars, which function as IT-enabled single-window centers across panchayats, ensuring wider outreach and accessibility for farmers.
Officials said the initiative is steadily reshaping the region’s agricultural landscape by promoting modernization, efficiency, and market-linked growth.
