Kolkata, April 6 Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari reported in his election affidavit that his income has more than doubled over the past five years, while the value of his movable assets has significantly decreased.

According to the affidavit, Adhikari's income has risen from about Rs 8.13 lakh in 2020-21 to nearly Rs 17.38 lakh in 2024-25.

He has declared cash in hand of around Rs 12,000 and multiple bank accounts. His movable assets are valued at approximately Rs 24.57 lakh, a decrease from Rs 59.31 lakh reported in 2021.

His immovable assets are estimated at Rs 61.30 lakh. This includes nearly 2.46 acres of agricultural land, along with a house, an apartment, and other properties, collectively valued at around Rs 25 lakh.

The affidavit states that Adhikari has no outstanding loans or government dues. He has also declared that he does not own any vehicle or jewelry.

It further indicates that 25 criminal cases are pending against him, with no convictions so far.

The cases relate to charges such as rioting, violence, provocation, defamation, and provisions under the SC/ST Act and the Disaster Management Act. Most of these were registered after he joined the BJP from the Trinamool Congress in 2020.

The Calcutta High Court had earlier granted him relief in several cases, and in October 2025, it quashed 15 of them.

Adhikari has listed politics and business as his profession. His sources of income include his salary as an MLA, pension, and business activities. He holds a Master's degree from Rabindra Bharati University.

The BJP leader is contesting from two seats – Nandigram and Bhabanipur.
