SVEEP Efforts Promote Voter Participation in Assam Elections

SVEEP Efforts Promote Voter Participation in Assam Elections.webp

Guwahati, March 29:

In Assam, district administrations are conducting Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiatives across the state to promote informed participation in the April 9 General Assembly Elections.

These initiatives, which are focused on the needs of the people, target both urban and rural populations, with a particular emphasis on new voters.

In Tinsukia, voter information slips were distributed in tea gardens. The Chirang district administration organized interaction sessions and plantation drives for young voters, while the Nagaon administration conducted campaigns under the theme "Your Vote, Your Right - Don't Waste It." In Morigaon, young people were engaged through creative formats such as theatre, while the Sonitpur administration is promoting awareness through wall paintings and street plays.

Unique mascots, inspired by local culture and biodiversity, have also been introduced to attract public attention and encourage voter participation across the state.
