Gangtok, April 7 Swiss Ambassador Maya Tissafi arrived here on Tuesday for a five-day official visit, officials said.
She is accompanied by her spouse, Juth Petermann, First Secretary Simon Sevan Schäfer, and Pierre-Yves Pitteloud, Senior Regional Advisor on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and Rapid Response (RR), they added.
During the visit, Tissafi and her team will conduct field visits to various sites affected by Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) across the region.
The delegation is also scheduled to meet with senior officials of the state government and engage with local stakeholders during their stay, officials added.
