Los Angeles, March 31 "Anyone But You" star Sydney Sweeney is reprising her role as a housekeeper in "The Housemaid's Secret," a sequel to the 2025 psychological thriller "The Housemaid."

The sequel, also starring Kirsten Dunst, is set to be released on December 17, 2027, according to Variety.

The film is based on the second novel in Freida McFadden's bestselling "Housemaid" book series, and it is directed by Paul Feig, known for projects such as "Bridesmaids" and "A Simple Favor."

Actor Michele Morrone is reprising his role as Enzo in the film, while Amanda Seyfried, who played a central role in the first part, is appearing in a small cameo.

"The Housemaid," which was released in 2025, was a commercial success, earning over USD 390 million at the global box office.

The first film followed Sweeny's Millie Calloway, who becomes a live-in maid for the Winchesters in a wealthy NY suburb and becomes entangled in their secret lives.

The film is produced by Feig and Laura Fischer under the banner Pretty Dangerous Pictures, Todd Lieberman, Carly Elter, and Alex Young under Hidden Pictures, and Sweeney through her banner Fifty-Fifty Films.
