Los Angeles, March 12 Singer Billie Eilish is set to make her film acting debut with Sarah Polley's adaptation of Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar."

Polley won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for her 2023 movie "Women Talking." This will be her first project since 2023, according to Variety.

Eilish is also a two-time Oscar winner for co-writing the original songs for "Barbie" and "No Time to Die" with her brother, Finneas.

"The Bell Jar" is the semi-autobiographical story written by American writer-poet Plath during her short life. The story revolves around a young woman's descent into mental illness, driven also by societal expectations.

Now considered a literary classic, the novel was published in 1963 under a pseudonym shortly before Plath committed suicide at the age of 30.

Polley's "The Bell Jar" has been acquired by Focus Features and will be produced by Joy Gorman Wettels, who is known for "Little House on the Prairie" as well as the Netflix series "13 Reasons Why," along with Plan B Entertainment and StudioCanal.

Eilish made her acting debut in the Prime Video series "Swarm," co-created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers, and starring Dominique Fishback.

The multiple Grammy winner is also co-directing the upcoming concert tour documentary "Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft – The Tour" with James Cameron, the director of "Avatar" and "Titanic."
