
Ahmedabad, March 8 Sanju Samson was in excellent form, scoring 89 off 45 balls, as India reached 203/1 after 15 overs in the T20 World Cup final against New Zealand here on Sunday.
Ishan Kishan was providing support to Samson, scoring 52 off 24 balls and reaching his half-century in just 21 balls.
This came after Abhishek Sharma had smashed an unbeaten 50 off 18 balls, the opener finding form after a disappointing run in the past week.
Abhishek was dismissed for 52 off 18 balls, but Samson and Ishan Kishan looked in top form.
The Indian batsmen mostly relied on boundaries and sixes after being asked to bat first by New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner.
The Kiwis brought back pacer Jacob Duffy into the playing eleven in place of all-rounder Luke McConchie.
India retained the same eleven that had played in the second semi-final against England in Mumbai.
