February 18, New Delhi – Following their qualification for the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, India will face the Netherlands in their final group match today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The match will begin at 7:00 PM IST, with the toss scheduled for 6:30 PM IST.
Although it is a meaningless match, no team should be underestimated. The tournament has already seen some surprising results, and the Indian team will aim to continue their winning momentum before the next stage.
The Indian team might also use this match to assess the performance of their bench players, including Jasprit Bumrah.
On the other hand, the Netherlands are known for causing upsets. In the 2022 edition, they defeated South Africa and eliminated them from the tournament. In the first match of this edition, the Netherlands put Pakistan under pressure, narrowly losing the match. They won against Namibia, but lost against the United States. They will aim for a better performance against India.
The two teams faced each other in 2022, a match which India won by 56 runs in Sydney.
India have played eight T20 matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium, winning six and losing two.
