Talwandi Sabo, April 11 Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal stated on Saturday that the next SAD government will develop Talwandi Sabo to resemble the educational hub of Sri Amritsar Sahib, recognizing its significance as "Guru ki Kashi."
Speaking at a rally as part of the party's 'Save Punjab' campaign, Badal criticized both the previous Congress government and the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for neglecting the constituency. He urged voters to support the party's candidate, Ravipreet Singh Sidhu, in the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections.
Badal alleged that the AAP government was pushing Punjab towards decline, claiming that confidence among traders, industry, and the public had eroded. He accused some AAP ministers of using gangsters to intimidate officers and entrepreneurs.
He promised that a future SAD government would take action against those responsible for these issues, including cases involving the alleged misuse of criminal elements and administrative decisions.
Thanking the public for their positive response to the 'Save Punjab' rallies, Badal announced that the first phase of the campaign concluded successfully after 40 rallies. He cautioned attendees about potential forces that might try to weaken the party.
Outlining his party's agenda, Badal stated that government jobs would be reserved for Punjabis, and that youth would be offered interest-free loans of up to Rs 10 lakh, along with subsidies for livestock farming. He also announced plans to establish a World Skill University, aiming to train one lakh youth annually with centres in every district.
He said the party would expand welfare schemes, including enhancing the old-age pension to Rs 3,100 per month and increasing the Shagun allowance to Rs 1 lakh.
Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal accused the AAP government of failing to compensate farmers for crop losses, while senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia alleged that an entrepreneur had been harassed by a minister and assured support to the affected family.
