Chennai, March 12 – Producer, director, and actor Vishal has strongly condemned Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad for his recent comments about the iconic Tamil star and leader MGR, urging the veteran Telugu actor to apologize for his derogatory remarks.
During a speech at a private event, Rajendra Prasad praised veteran Telugu actor Kanta Rao. To emphasize Kanta Rao's importance, he made a comment that was derogatory towards the legendary Tamil actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M G Ramachandran, popularly known as MGR.
Tamil actor Vishal used his X account to express his disapproval of Rajendra Prasad's comments about MGR.
He wrote, "It is shocking and disturbing to hear the recent comments made by senior actor Shri Rajendra Prasad, a prominent figure in our Telugu film industry, at a recent event."
He addressed Rajendra Prasad, "Dear Sir, with the utmost respect, I am writing this tweet to express my disapproval of your speech about our late, legendary actor, MGR, who was not only a legendary actor but also a great leader in Tamil Nadu. While praising another legendary actor, Shri Kanta Rao, is a kind gesture, bringing down and denigrating another legendary actor, MGR, who is still fondly remembered, is not well-received by the sentiments of our people."
Vishal further stated, "I request you to kindly address this issue in a manner that you deem appropriate, as it is essential and of utmost importance."
He then politely requested an apology. He said, "I apologize for mentioning that you should apologize for this issue, as I, as an actor, would do the same if someone were to speak negatively about an actor of your stature. I hope for your understanding and blessings."
