Chennai, March 23 The people of Tamil Nadu will reject the DMK-Congress combine in the upcoming Assembly election, just as the people of Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, and Delhi did for the INDIA combine, said BJP Tamil Nadu in-charge and Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday.

Goyal, who arrived here to finalize seat-sharing arrangements among the NDA allies, stated that the AIADMK-led opposition bloc will achieve a resounding victory in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, establishing an NDA government.

"We will fight against the forces of DMK and its partners, who have led Tamil Nadu through extremely difficult times due to their incompetent management of the economy and actions that have harmed Tamil culture. The people are fed up with the DMK and Congress," he said.

"Just as the Congress and its allies faced continuous defeats in the elections held in Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, and Delhi, the people of Tamil Nadu will reject the DMK-Congress combine in the state."

"This is because the people want good governance, development-oriented politics, a better future, and opportunities for youth and women. Tamil Nadu is ready for a government under the strong National Democratic Alliance, guided by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Goyal told reporters.

Modi achieved a record on Saturday by becoming the longest-serving head of government in India's history, having served as Chief Minister and Prime Minister for 25 years. He demonstrated how good governance could transform the destiny of the people of India. The people of Tamil Nadu want a government led by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, a government that will bring development for farmers and all sections, and work towards a developed Tamil Nadu and a developed India, he said.

"We will ensure that Tamil Nadu has a very bright future," the minister added.

Single-phase elections to the 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu will be held on April 23, while the 30 constituencies in neighboring Puducherry will go to the polls on April 9.
