Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections: Alliance Seat-Sharing Finalized

Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections: Alliance Seat-Sharing Finalized.webp

Chennai, March 24 TMC chief G K Vasan said on Tuesday that the AIADMK-led NDA in Tamil Nadu will "comfortably win" in the April 23 Assembly polls.

The Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) is one of the constituents of the AIADMK-led alliance.

After calling on AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami at the party office here on Tuesday, Vasan said, "The NDA is a winning alliance in Tamil Nadu. There is a positive wave for this alliance. Yesterday, I was not able to be present at the AIADMK headquarters when all our alliance party leaders were present. Today, I met the General Secretary."

Describing his meeting with Palaniswami as a 'courtesy call', Vasan said, "I informed him about seat-sharing, (desired) constituencies. As an alliance party leader, I had a detailed talk with him. Soon, everything will be official."

Asked about the DMK's criticism that all the decisions of their alliance were taken in Delhi, Vasan denied it, saying, "No, no. Not like that. Yesterday, everybody was here at the AIADMK party office."

On March 23, the AIADMK-led alliance finalised the seat-sharing for key constituents, with the AIADMK allotting 27 seats for BJP, 18 for PMK and 11 for AMMK.

Elections to the 234-seat Tamil Nadu Assembly are to be held on April 23.
