Chennai, Apr 1 A ground survey by the independent research group, Lok Poll, projects a comfortable victory for the DMK-led alliance in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

The survey, released on Wednesday, claimed to have utilized stratified random sampling across a sample size of 117,000 respondents (approximately 500 per constituency). It predicts that the DMK-led alliance will secure between 181-189 seats with a dominant 40.1 per cent vote share.

The AIADMK-led alliance is projected to bag 38-42 seats with a 29 per cent vote share, while actor Vijay’s TVK is expected to make its debut with 8-10 seats and a significant 23.9 per cent vote share. The NTK is projected at 4.9 per cent without securing any seats.

In the Chief Minister preference category, incumbent M K Stalin leads with 41 per cent, followed by Vijay (27.1 per cent) and Edappadi K Palaniswami (24.1 per cent).

Lok Poll is known for its large-scale fieldwork-based electoral analytics and regional trend mapping in Indian politics.
