
Chennai, March 27 Former Union minister GK Vasan announced the candidates for the five constituencies allocated to his TMC-M within the AIADMK-led NDA on Friday, and stated that the party would contest the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections using the BJP's Lotus symbol.
Addressing a press conference here, the chief of the Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) revealed the names of the five candidates at 12:12 pm, apparently referring to the auspicious time for making the announcement, in line with the party's sentiments.
VM Karthikeyan will be contesting from Ranipet, while senior leader M Yuvaraja has been fielded from Erode West. Former legislator 'Vidiyal' S Sekar is the party's nominee for Oddanchathiram, while MKR Ashok Kumar will contest from Kumbakonam.
Vasan further stated that J Nivin Simon is the party candidate from the Killiyoor constituency.
The party will contest the election using the BJP's Lotus symbol, he said, and described the NDA as a "victorious alliance."
"The public sentiment favors the AIADMK-led NDA, which is a victorious alliance," Vasan added.
